Amy began her career with the City in the Department of Community Development as a Code Enforcement Inspector, then served three years as a Utilities Customer Service Manager, and has served as the Assistant Building and Zoning Administrator for the past four years. Ms. Harpster holds an Associate’s of Applied Science degree from Lima Technical College in Electrical Engineering Technology, an Associates of General Studies degree from Cochise College in Arizona, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bluffton College in Organizational Management. In additional to certification as Building Official, Ms. Harpster also holds certificates as a Building Inspector and Residential Building Official; International Code Certifications a Certified Building Official, Building Plans Examiner, Commercial Mechanical Inspector, Commercial Building Inspector, Residential Inspector and Property Maintenance & Housing Inspector; and certified as a City of Lima Electrical Journeyman. Ms. Harpster is one of three female Code Officials for the State of Ohio.
