AMI Water Meter Installation

The City of Lima (LIMA) is going to replace 27,548 residential and commercial water meters throughout its service territory with Sensus iPERL and OMNI Meters coupled with Sensus FlexNet technology.  LIMA desires to have all water meter installations completed with in 18 months from award of contract with qualified installation contractor.  Please note that LIMA has contracted with Utility Metering Solutions (UMS) as a program manager and data integrator for this project (Owner’s Consultant).

1. Must have been in business conducting water meter installations for at least three (3) years and doing business under that same name for that time.
2. Contractor must have a bonding capacity of $10M or greater and must provide a letter stating as such from a bonding surety authorized to do business in the State of Ohio.
Special Requirements:
1. Submit Intent to bid notice electronically no later than 2/16/2018, 4:00 p.m., local time to Mike Caprella, Intent to bid notice must be received in order to submit a bid package.

A deposit (Bid Bond) is required with the submission of the bid. The bidder must submit with the bid, cash or a certified check drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in the State of Ohio, payable to City of Lima, in an amount at least equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into and that satisfactory performance and payment bonds will be executed. In lieu of making the cash deposit above described, a satisfactory bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of the State of Ohio to execute such bonds, shall be submitted with each bid, conditioned that the surety will upon demand forthwith make payment to the obligee upon said bond if the bidder fails to execute the contract in accordance with the bid bond.

A vendor shall procure and maintain for the duration of the contract insurance against claims for injuries to persons or damages to property which may arise from or in connection with the performance of the work by the contractor, his agents, representatives, employees or subcontractors, if applicable.
