10 FREE THINGS FOR INVESTOR OWNERS

1. ON LINE CITY and COUNTY SERVICES

-Visit the City of Lima Web site for links to Municipal Court information, property maintenance code tips, neighborhood organization activities, and the City newsletter "Our Community" -

-Visit the Allen County Web site for links to property information at the Auditors office, Sheriff’s Sale listings at the Treasurers Office, and other on line resources at -

 2. FREE JUNK VEHICLE REMOVAL

-To have abandoned or inoperable vehicles removed at no charge, contact the Lima Police Department at (419) 227-4444. An officer will arrange to meet you on site, and have the vehicle removed at no cost to you.

 3. FREE GRAFFITI REMOVAL

- Contact the Lima Police Department at (419) 227-4444 to report graffiti. The Crime Prevention Unit will first investigate the nature of the graffiti and arrange with the Public Works Department remove it.

 4. FREE BROCHURES FOR YOU AND YOUR TENANTS

-The City of Lima provides at no charge useful brochures about tenant-landlord responsibilities, City services and residential ordinances. Contact the Lima Department of Community Development at (419) 221-5146 for copies or download them from our website.

 5. FREE NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUPS

-Dumpsters are placed throughout the City on Saturdays during May where you can dispose of almost anything! Neighbors can also work together to request a dumpster for a local cleanup at anytime. For dates and dumpster program information call the Lima Neighborhood Support program at (419) 221-5177.

 6. FREE SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS

-Courses for Landlords ("Profitable Property Management" and "Keeping Illegal Activity Out of Rental Property")

 7. FREE YARD WASTE BAGS

-Doing a spring cleanup? For biodegradable yard waste bags, take your paid Lima Utilities bill to the Utilities Billing Office, 50 Town Square, and receive two free rolls of bags each month.

 8. FREE PROPERTY MAINTENANCE HISTORY

-Before buying a property you may want to check on its tax status, and verify there are no current citations for property maintenance violations. For that extra piece of mind, call Lima Property Maintenance Code Enforcement at (419) 221-5237.

 9. FREE PROPERTY PROBLEM INVESTIGATION

-If there is a deteriorated property in your neighborhood, contact Lima Property Maintenance Code Enforcement at (419) 221-5237. Your complaint will be investigated by a Property Maintenance Code Inspector who will work with the property owner to correct the problem.

10. FREE TENANT-LANDLORD MEDIATION

-Sometimes disputes can be resolved before legal action is needed. Free mediation services are available through the Lima-Allen County Council on Community Affairs Mediation Services at (419) 227-2586.
