PICNIC SHELTERS

You may reserve a picnic shelter from April 1 thru September 30. The reservation fees are $30 for city residents and $40 for non-city residents. Without a reservation, shelters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. shelters are available at the following parks:

    Faurot Park
    Robb Park
    Lincoln Park
    Hover Park
    Schoonover Park
    Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park

LINCOLN PARK STEAM LOCOMOTIVE

Locomotive #779, a "Berkshire Type" steam locomotive, is permanently displayed at Lincoln Park and was the last of 65 locomotives manufactured by Lima Locomotive Works for the Nickel Plate Railroad between 1942 & 1949. Total weight of this locomotive is 773,130 pounds and it originally sold for $187,000. Before its retirement in 1958, #779 logged 677,095 miles. Also on display is an 1883 pullman car used by Senator Calvin S. Brice as well as caboose #1091 which was build in 1882. For more information contact the Allen County Historical Society.

LIMA ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY

Club meetings are held the last Friday of every month except December. Programs can be arranged by appointment only. School groups are welcome. The 14in.
