Checkless Payment of Water & Sewer Bills

How can you . . . . . . . . ?

  • Stop paying your utility bill in person or by mail?

  • Save a dozen stamps?

  • Have one less check to write each month?

  • Never have to worry about lost or late payments costing you penalty fees?

  • Be able to take an extended vacation without worrying about unpaid bills?

  • Never again stand in line or look for a parking space just to pay your water bill?

HERE'S THE ANSWER

A customer convenience currently offered by the Department of Utilities is checkless payments. This free service is now being enjoyed by nearly 800 of your neighbors. When you sign up for this service, your monthly utility bill will be paid automatically from your checking account. Here's how it works:

    1. You apply for this free service by submitting an application form along with a deposit slip or voided/cancelled check.

    2. The first month after your application is received, we transmit payment instructions to your banking facility in a test mode. This "pre-note" procedure does not pay your bill, but is used to insure that all routing and account number information has been correctly entered.

    3. Beginning with the second billing month after your application is received, your banking institution will automatically pay your utility bill from the account you authorized.
