2016 Summer Academy
Information about the 2016 Lima Police Department High School Summer Police Academy
The Lima Police Department, in partnership with the Lima City Schools, is proud to announce applications are now being accepted for the 2016 LPD High School Summer Police Academy. The academy will have two separate sessions, the first will run from June 7th-June 10th and the second will run from June 21st-24th. Each day will be from 8:00am-4:00pm and will start at Lima Senior High School. The academy is open to any high school student in Allen County, including incoming freshman, but space is limited as we will only be able to accept the first 50 students per session. Throughout the four days students will experience a wide variety of topics including but not limited to crime scene investigation, fingerprinting and identification, defensive tactics, demonstrations from the multiple specialty teams at LPD, and scenario’s where students will become the police officer. All students will be provided lunch, snacks, and receive a t-shirt. The camp is free of charge and is a great opportunity for kids to see what police work is really all about.

Registration will open at 7:30 AM on Monday, April 4th, 2016 and will run until Friday, April 29th, 2016, or until classes are full.
