Technology Crimes Unit
The Lima Police Department Technology Crime Unit was originally created to gather evidence that involved computers. With the popularity cell phones, personal data devices, and other digital media the unit has expanded to cover a wide range of technologies.
Criminals have been committing the same crimes for centuries, but the tools they use to commit these crimes are always evolving. The Lima Police Department is committed to keeping the community safe, whether the crime occurs on the streets or in cyberspace.
The Technology Crimes Unit works in cooperation with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. They deal with crimes ranging from internet fraud to online stalkers and pedophiles.
The Lima Police Department Technology Crimes Unit is a member of the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
