John is married, wife Melanie, and has three children, son Joshua and daughter in law Sommer, and two daughters, Tory and Tracy. He and Melanie also have 3 grandchildren. John has been a Lima resident for 28 years and a life-long resident of the Lima area having grown up in Bath Township. John has been employed by Nickles Bakery of Ohio, Inc. for the past 30 years and is the Plant Manager of the Lima Bakery. John has been the President of City Council for the past since 2007. Prior to his election as Council President he served as 2nd Ward councilor for 11 years (1996 to 2007) and previously served as 1st Ward Councilor for five years (from 1990 thru 1994).
